The Depression & Anxiety Consumer Research Unit (CRU) serves as a bridge between consumers and researchers, and undertakes a high quality program of research focused on the priorities and needs of mental health consumers in the community.
CRU was established by the Centre for Mental Health Research in 2003 as part of its focus on research from the perspective of those who suffer from common mental disorders.
CRU is staffed by academic researchers and students who are also consumers (that is, have personal experience with depressive or anxiety disorders). The current and founding Director of CRU is Associate Professor Kathy Grifffiths.
